This increase was driven by strong growth in passenger car sales, which rose by 79%, along with a 54.4% rise in bus sales and a remarkable 121.8% increase in truck sales.
According to a report by the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC), private car sales grew by 17%, totaling 70,900 vehicles during this period, up from 60,800 vehicles in the corresponding months of 2023.
Total imports of passenger cars reached $1.692 billion between January and August, up from $1.155 billion during the same period in 2023, an increase of $536.623 million.
In October alone, passenger car sales amounted to 9.6 thousand units, up from 8.9 thousand units in October 2023, reflecting a 7.3% growth.
